What I eat for breakfast…

Every time that I’m at work, people ask me what I’m eating during our breakfast break. I never really thought it was that special, but I’ve had several comments from people telling me that it’s so beautiful and looks delicious. So I’ll share what my simple, healthy and very filling breakfast is…

It’s a layer of plain Greek yogurt, a dash of cinnamon, fruit, and topped off with All Bran Buds. I feel very strongly that Greek yogurt is one of the most nutritious things that you can eat. Unfortunately the food industry has taken it to a whole other level. It’s now mixed with sugary fruit preserves and fattening toppings. So many consumers feel that just because it’s fat free Greek yogurt, that it’s a really healthy choice. The problem is that it’s loaded with so much sugar, that it nearly cancels out the nutritional benefit.

In my opinion, your best bet is a plain Greek yogurt with either 2 or 4% milkfat. If you look at the label, you’ll see that the amount of fat is very minimal and actually essential to a healthy lifestyle. I’d rather get my fat intake from Greek yogurt than chips or something else like that.

Enough about my opinions… here’s the yogurt!

Sprinkle with cinnamon. You can an additional sweetener if you want to. I’d suggest Stevia or something like that.

Put any kind of fruit on top. My favorite is raspberries. I always store them in the freezer. They defrost in time for breakfast if I make this the night before work.

Step #4
Top with Kellogg’s All Bran Buds. This is the best option out there for “granola.” It’s the lowest in fat, calories, and sugar. It also has the highest amount of fiber of any cereal or granola.

    Layer of wheat germ
    Layer of plain yogurt. Fage is my favorite
    Layer of fruit, usually homemade applesauce ….Cortland apples and cinnamon
    Not to be eaten mixed up…one spoonful of each layer
    And then I was weighng and measuring.
